FYM CLASSICS: THE KINKS, 20TH CENTURY MAN

In 1971, The Kinks released Muswell Hillbillies, the opening track 20th Century Man is FYM's Jam of the Day. It's a rootsy groove driven Ray Davies classic, featuring catchy contemplations covering tense modern times. We feel the photo below fits the vibe of this tune completely.

And to accompany FYM's Classic Jam of the Day, we've included this archival shot of the 20th Century Men who raised/taught us everything we know. Standing confidently on the far left is our Publicist Nick Codling's father (Dave), the gentlemen in the blue vest is FYM Art Director J. Thomas Codling's dad (Tom), and rounding us out is FYM's Uncle Marv in the striped shirt on the right- all of which clearly look like they knew how to have a good time.

It seems wherever FYM lives, orange tabby alley cats find us.. Over the past few weeks Higgins (pictured below) has been a quiet presence on FYM HQ's window sill.

Peering through our shades, Higgins keeps us company. He seems to be digging on The Kinks lately... So in honor of his impressive dedication to playing in our planter out front, we present a delicate deep cut Jam of the Day by The Kinks with Phenomenal Cat:

Phenomenal Cat- Side Two: Track 4 off of the album, 'The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society'. Their 6th studio album, released in 1968, ended up being the last full-length The Kinks recorded together with the original quartet. It's a forgotten classic that deserves a much needed visit/revisit.
