Last week, Bryan John Appleby gave a stunning sold out performance on Thanksgiving eve at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard. The bill was stacked with other Northwest favorites—Shenandoah Davis and Pollens, both of which added draw to the packed house on that evening.
It was FYM's first time seeing Bryan John Appleby live. His set was a powerful balance of gentle introspective storytelling, and full-band dramatic builds. The music was simply too beautiful to disrespect. That evening, the crowd hung on his words in eerie stunned silence.
For those of you not in the know, listen to Bryan John Appleby's full-length record Fire On The Vine, below:
This record does a fine job capturing the darkness circumscribing the Northwest during our fall and winter months. The somber moments sewn throughout Fire on the Vine, are steadied by sophisticated sonic sunshine, creating an uplifting listening experience overall. Purchase the album HERE. Cheers, FYM.
