FYM FOOD & SPIRITS: SOCIAL KITCHEN & BREWERY, SAN FRANCISCO, USA

Words/Photos: Nick Codling Graphic: J. Codling

There's only a couple days left for Young Moderns to enjoy SF Beer Week. FYM heard about the Sunset's Social Kitchen & Brewery via sf.eater.com over a year ago and of course we had to go during strong beer month.

Social Kitchen & Brewery offers 5 strong beers as a sampler set with 2 ounces of each. Sure it doesn't sound like much to drink, but each beer is at least 8.5% alcohol or stronger. Their lineup looks like this, (from left to right) Double Doozy IPA, White Thai Affair, The Big Lebowski White Prussian, Big Muddy Weizenbock, and The Giant S'more.

Each beer carries their own weight with the White Thai Affair being our favorite (of course it had to be 9.9% alcohol, as pictured above.

FYM also tried out the Social's Happy Hour food options. We went with the Mac & Chesse($4) with truffle oil and english peas + Brussels Sprout Chips($3). Both were full of flavor, and the comfort food- that is Mac & Chesse, won our heart (and stomach) over. One amazing fact with this place is that their brewer Rich Higgins is only 1 of 3 Master Cicerone's in the world. So get off your butt this week and catch one of SF Beer Week's events and make sure to check out Social Kitchen & Brewery, get their strong beers while they last! Head on over to the event page to find out more for their strong beer month HERE.

Cheers,

FYM
