FYM EXCLUSIVE: THE CHANDELEARS 'STRANGE WAYS' -KISS (COVER) GOES GRUNGE

Yesterday, FYM had the pleasure of hanging out with Brian Fernandes -one of the hardest working/most talented sonic prospects Seattle has to offer. He's a Boston transplant, currently performing in two bands locally in Seattle- The Chandelears (Bass/Vocals) & SMJ (Guitar/Vocals). Of the two, The Chandelears could possibly be the most important band Seattle Washington has rarely seen.

Over the past few years, plagued with bad luck finding the right drummer, the group has only played a handful of live shows. For several months now FYM has been sitting in on The Chandelears during jam sessions at their practice space in Queen Anne.

What we can't escape is the brilliant (no words necessary) musical connection between the main contributors- Brain Fernandes & Douglas Iacovoni (Pictured Above: Guitar/Vocs). While inside the fuzz, these two can spontaneously take you on a journey through nostalgic dark pastures of the quintessential 90's Seattle Sound. During our hang with Brian yesterday, FYM did some digital-digging, and unearthed a forgotten-gem from The Chandelears catalog. Listen Below:

The tune above is a down n' dirty grunge-fueled, rapid dispatch revision of Strange Ways by Kiss (off their 1974 release Hotter Than Hell). The Chandelears made this track their own via- reworking the tempo, adding speed, along with raw blues-filled vocal prowess. Our best vibes go out to these guys in their search for the final piece of the puzzle (drummer). If you dig what you hear visit The Chandelears Bandcamp Page HERE. And follow them on Facebook HERE. Cheers, FYM.
